F.A.Q

  • How many can it sleep?
Up to 4 adults. There is a King bed and a large sofa bed.
  • How much is it for extra guests?
Prices are based on two adults sharing. Extra guests aged 10 and over stay at £50 each per night. Children 9 and under are free!
  • Do you allow pets?
Sometimes. Please ask before booking if you’d like to bring your pets. We tend to allow small breeds that are friendly with other animals and people as there could be interactions during your stay with our bichon Wilbur (who is friendly), the farm cats, or hens. We charge a £10 cleaning fee.
  • Is it warm inside?
Yes! When we rebuilt the Airstream the inner walls were removed entirely rivet by rivet so we could replace the old insulation with triple-layered pockets of new insulation. Apart from the very coldest nights of the year, the electric radiators keep things very cozy and when it’s sub-zero the wood stove will keep you roasty toasty!
  • How does the wood-fired hot tub work?
Light a fire in the stove, and keep it going until the water’s hot! It takes between 2.5 – 4 hours depending on ambient temperature. The anticipation – and reward once you get in - is part of the experience. We supply everything you need – firelighters, kindling, and firewood and can lend a hand and advice.
  • Do you offer a hot tub pre-light service?
If we are going to be available on the day you check in (which is usually the case apart from Wednesdays and Thursdays) we will offer you the chance to have the hot tub pre-heated so you can jump in when you arrive for £40.
  • Can you walk to the town?
Yes – while the Airstream feels miles away from everything, you can actually walk to Galston by road or over the dyke path in around 20 minutes. There’s a big Tesco, butchers, bakery, café and a few pubs.
  • Is the tiki bar stocked?
It’s BYOB but there’s a cocktail shaker, measures and ice bucket should you wish to bring ice to chill your drinks. The bar is a space to enjoy hanging out outside even when it’s raining where you’re welcome to enjoy the Bluetooth speaker provided.
  • Is the site fully fenced and enclosed?
Not completely. While the glade is secluded and fenced off from the rest of the farm, the area is too big to fence off entirely and a dog would be able to be able to wander over the bridge or through gaps.
  • What’s your extreme weather policy?
Our policy applies specifically to SEPA ‘extreme’ flood warnings only – not Met Office / Transport Scotland/ Scottish Government warnings. In the event of a SEPA extreme flood warning alert affecting our area we will be obligated to cancel your stay potentially at short notice and will proffer a full refund. We have never had to do this so far but keep the policy in place just in case.
  • Is it wheelchair accessible?
Due to the terrain of the site and the door size of the Airstream itself, unfortunately the accommodation is not suitable for wheelchair users and others with significant mobility issues.
